Ikan Goreng with Sambal

Preparation & Cooking Time 30-45 minutes

Cooking Tools & Ingredients

  • Mortar & Pestle
  • Frying pan
  • Fish fillet or whole fish
  • Lemon and salt for seasoning the fish 
  • Oil for deep frying 
  • 5 pcs Red chilli  - deseeded and chop to smaller size 
  • 1 tsp Shrimp paste 
  • 4 pc Garlic cloves 
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 pc tomato 
  • Indonesian lime / Kalamansi / lemon 

Recipe

  1. Marinate fish with lemon and salt for 15 mins 
  2. Meanwhile, prepare your Sambal. Chargrill your shrimp paste to enhance the flavour 
  3. Put salt, garlic shrimp paste and red chili, form into paste 
  4. Add tomato and combine to make it lighter
  5. Squeeze some indonesian lime / kalamansi / lemon 
  6. Mix throughly 
  7. Preheat your oil 
  8. Slowly slide your fish, cook until its golden brown ( vary depending on your fish. Approximately 7-12 mins)
  9. Enjoy your fish, with sambal! 
  10. Ps its best accompanied with hot rice and some cold cut cucumbersb
