
Kolo Mee with Wonton Soup

My kids love this simple dish. So easy to make and always plenty of smiles afterwards.
Preparation & Cooking Time 30-40 minutes
Cooking Tools & Ingredients
- Cooking pots, mixing bowl, utensils & strainer
- 1 packet Dry Kolo Mie
- 3 tbsp sesame oil
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp mushroom powder
- Salt & pepper
- 2 tsp of garlic oil
- Chilli oil
- Chicken stock
- Wontons
- Pork balls
- Bok choi (or your choice of greens)
- Spring onions
- Water
Recipe
- Prepare ingredients and equipment.
- Turn on your stove to high heat and wait for the water to boil.
- Add kolo mie to boiling water and allow the noodles to simmer for 5 minutes.
- Strain the noodles from the hot water and run it under some cold water.
- Preparing the noodle sauce - In your mixing bowl, add sesame oil, soy sauce, mushroom powder, pepper, garlic oil and stir.
- Slowly pour in your bowl of noodles and stir it until the kolo mie noodles have absorbed all of the sauce.
- Preparing the soup - boil another pot of water.
- Add chicken stock, garlic oil, salt, homemade wontons, pork balls, mushroom powder, pepper and spring onions.
- Preparing your vegetables - boil water and add bok choi (or your choice of greens). Allow it to simmer for 2-5 minutes.
- Plating - Ready to plate with your choice of condiments - fried shallots, chilli oil go really well with the kolo mie noodles. The soup will be extra hot so be careful when serving it to your children.
